How to upload a picture

Here are step by step instructions for uploading a picture and adding it to your wiki page.

Step 1: Click on the Upload File link in the Toolbox menu area.

Step 2: Browse for the image you wish to add to your wiki page.

Step 3: Choose the file you wish to add. You do this by selecting the file on your hard drive and then clicking the open button.

Step 4: Your picture will now be displayed in the wiki. Below the picture will be your pictures name in this case it is 3_choose_file.png you will want to copy this name exactly as it appears. You will use it to embed the picture into the wiki page you are working on.

Step 5: Now that your picture has been uploaded you are now ready to use it on your wiki page. Go to the page you wish to add the picture to and edit the page.

Step 6: To embed the image you use the following wiki syntax.

[[image:3_choose_file.png]]

Step 7: Alignment: use a pipe | to allow you to designate the justification

The Pipe | is located above the return key. You must use the shift key while pushing this key.

left [[image:filename.jpg|left]]

center [[image:filename.jpg|center]]

right [[image:filename.jpg|right]]

Is your picture way too big?

You can resize the image on your computer before you upload it to the wiki, or you can have the wiki use a thumbnail of your uploaded picture.

If you would like to specify the size of the thumbnail you do so using the following wiki syntax. 200 is the width in pixels the thumbnail will be.
